The dream for Pathway started in the summer of 2000 with four couples from Avalon Missionary Church who began to gather together to pray about impacting the northwest side of Fort Wayne with a new type of church. In the spring of 2001 the Missionary Church joined in the adventure by establishing a church planting team. By the end of the summer a strong core of families had begun to meet weekly for study, prayer and sharing strategic values.
It started in a basement, then moved to a front porch, along with communion at a local grade school. Then in January of 2002, Carroll Middle School became the temporary home of Pathway Community Church. PCC started growing at a rapid rate, and by the end of the summer, over 550 folks were packing into the small cafeteria. Soon, the cafeteria wouldn't hold us all, and we began to fill the school's gymnasium. After just five years, Pathway has grown to nearly 1,800 attendees.
On June 3, 2007, Pathway opened the doors to their brand new facility just off Carroll Road. In less than a year in the new facility, PCC was seeing as many as 2,500 people on a Sunday morning.
Now in our seventh year of meeting publicly, Pathway remains a church committed to touching thousands of lives each week, inside and outside of the walls of our facility - in our community and beyond. We believe we are on a wave that God has created and generated of impassioned people who long to experience the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. We are convinced God has positioned us in this part of Fort Wayne at this time in history. Our commitment to God’s mission is clear.
We exist to intentionally influence people to seek a genuine and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
We desire to be a church where people become impassioned by the love of God to reach out to a world looking for hope and healing.
