CARE MINISTRIES
Care Ministries at Pathway Community Church seeks to provide comfort and hope, as well as to promote renewal, restoration, and the holistic health of individuals and relationships by coming alongside of people and offering support through the various seasons of life.
We recognize that life can be challenging, surprising, disappointing, and devastating. So our desire is to be both proactive and reactive in providing a variety of programs, opportunities, resources, and relationships for people as they face the various situations and circumstances that we all do in life. We desire to creatively, fully, and effectively address the holistic health of every person – including his or her spiritual, emotional, physical, relational, mental, and financial health.
Care Ministries Core Values:
The following core values form the basis for why we do what we do the way we do.
The Grace and Power of God – We believe that we are completely dependent on God’s grace and power. The comfort, hope, renewal and restoration that He provides are only a result of the amazing love and grace that He continually extends to us, and are not a result of anything we do or have done to deserve it. With this in mind, in all of our efforts we continually point people to Him and remind them of their complete dependence on Him to do what only He can do in their lives.
The Authority of Scripture – We believe that the Scriptures are the inspired Word of God. Through the stories, poems, accounts, and letters that have been passed on to us in the Bible, God has revealed Himself to us, as well as the grand story of His plan for the restoration and reconciliation of all things. With this in mind, we believe that the Bible provides us with the essential foundation of truth that we need when it comes to understanding who God is, what He promises to do, who we are, and who God desires for us to become.
The Hope of Resurrection – We believe that just as Christ died and was raised to life again, He wants to bring about resurrection in our lives as well. He desires to redeem and restore us completely in every way, and our hope is in the fact that this is indeed possible for us, because the same power that raised Jesus from the dead has been made available to us.
The Necessity of Community - We believe that all of humanity was created for community – we were created to connect and interact intimately, not only with our God, but also with each other as human beings. We simply cannot fully live as God intended for us to when we are in isolation.
The Intrinsic Value and Worth of Every Person – We believe that as a result of being made in God’s image, every person has intrinsic value and worth, and is deserving of unlimited and unconditional love. This being the case, we affirm this value and worth in all of our interactions that we have, counsel that we give, and support that we offer, as well as in coming alongside of and caring for every person.
The Relevance of Holistic Health – We believe in God’s plan for holistic reconciliation and restoration in Christ. He desires to redeem and bring about a sense of wholeness again in every area of our lives. In addition to that, we believe that there is no distinction between that which is spiritual and that which is not spiritual. We acknowledge the interconnectedness of all of our interactions in life, and therefore believe that everything is spiritual; everything matters and everything we do plays a part in our either being made whole again in Christ or not. As a result, we seek to address and bring about wholeness and health in every area of life, in every possible way.
The Importance of Strong Families – We believe that in God’s plan for reconciling and restoring all things, the role of strong families is an extremely important one. Marriages are to reflect the beauty of our relationships with Christ, parents are to provide the primary source of spiritual guidance and direction for their kids, and the relational interaction that a family has together should provide a picture of the unconditional love, security and encouragement that God desires for all of humanity to participate in and experience.
